Youth with a Mission (YWAM) affirms that the Bible is the trustworthy Word of God inspired by the Holy Spirit, the absolute point of reference for every aspect of life and ministry.

The following answers are strongly emphasized by YWAM, Based on the Word of God, who He is and His initiative of salvation:

Worship: We are called to praise and worship only God.

Holiness: We are called to live holy and upright lives, which exemplify the nature and character of God.

Testimony: We are called to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with those who do not know Him.

Prayer: We are called to engage in intercessory prayer for the people and motives of the heart of God, including opposing evil in any of its expressions.

Communion: We are called to commit ourselves to the Church, both in its forms for its own edification and in its schemes of advancement and multiplication.

The Fundamental Values of YWAM are the expression of our fundamental beliefs, coupled of them with specific guidelines given by God since the beginning of YWAM in 1960.

They are here to pass on to the coming generations the things God has emphasized to us.

These beliefs and values that we share are the primary guide to both past and future growth of our Mission.

Some of these are common to Christians anywhere; Others are characteristic of Youth With A Mission.

The combination of these beliefs and values make up the unique characteristics of the YWAM family - our "DNA".

These are values that we hold in high esteem, which in a way determinate who we are, how we live and how we make decisions.

1. TO KNOW GOD:

YWAM is committed to knowing God, His nature, His character and His ways. We seek to reflect who He is in every aspect of our lives and ministries. The automatic result of knowing and enjoying communion with God is the desire to share Him with others.

2. TO MAKE GOD KNOWN:

YWAM is called to make God known throughout the world and in every sphere of society through evangelism, training and ministries of mercy. We believe that the salvation of souls must result in the transformation of societies, obeying Jesus' command to make disciples in all nations.

3. LISTEN TO THE VOICE OF GOD:

YWAM is committed to create with God through listening to Him, praying and obeying His commandments in both the small and the great things. We depend on listening to His voice as individuals, together in small groups context and at large corporate meetings. This is an integral part of our decision-making process.

4. PRACTICE WORSHIP AND INTERCESSORY PRAYER:

YWAM is dedicated to worshiping Jesus and engaging in intercessory prayer as integral aspects of daily life. We also recognize Satan's intent to destroy the work of God and we call for the power of God and His Holy Spirit to overcome the enemy's strategies in the lives of individuals and in matters relating to nations.

5. BE VISIONARY:

YWAM is called to be visionary, receiving, nurturing, and continually imparting a fresh vision from God. We support the birth of new ministries and methods. We are always willing to be radical to be relevant to every generation, people and sphere of society. We believe that the apostolic calling of YWAM requires the integration of the spiritual leadership of the body of elders, freedom in the Spirit, and relationships centered on the Word of God.

6. ENCORAGE AND PROMOTE YOUNG PEOPLE:

YWAM is called to encourage and promote young people. We believe that God has given gifts and a callings to young people to be spearheads in vision and ministry. We are committed to value, trust, train, support, make space for them and send them. They are not only the church of the future; they are the church of the present. We commit ourselves to follow them wherever they direct us in the will of God.

7. HAVE A WIDE AND DECENTRALIZED STRUCTURE:

YWAM has a broad and diverse but still integrated structure. We are a global family of ministries that are held together by shared purpose, vision, values and relationships. We believe that structures must serve the people and purposes of God. Each ministry at all levels has the privilege and responsibility to be accountable to a body of the elderly, also accountable internationally to the YWAM Global Leadership Team.

8. BEING INTERNATIONAL AND INTERDENOMINATIONAL:

YWAM is international and interdenominational in its global reach as well as in its local conformation. We believe that ethnic, linguistic and denominational diversity, together with the redeemed aspects of culture, are positive factors that contribute to the health and growth of the mission.

9. HAVE A BIBLICAL COSMOVISION:

YWAM is called to a biblical worldview. We believe that the Bible makes a clear division between good and evil. The practical dimensions of life are no less spiritual than the expressions of ministry. All that is done in obedience to God is spiritual. We seek to honor God with all that we do, equipping and mobilizing God's men and women to take roles of service and influence in every sphere of society.

10. WORKING AS TEAMS:
YWAM is called upon to work in teams in all aspects of ministry and leadership. We believe that a complementary combination of gifts, callings, perspectives, ministries and generations working together in unity at all levels of our mission, provide wisdom and security. Seeking the will of God and making decisions in a team context facilitates accountability and contributes to a greater relationship, motivation, responsibility and sense of ownership of the vision.

11. SHOWING A LEADERSHIP OF SERVICE:
YWAM is called to a leadership of service as a way of life, rather than a hierachy leadership. A servant leader is one who honors the gifts and callings of those who are under his care and keeps their rights and privileges. As Jesus served his disciples, we emphasize the importance that those in leadership positions serve those they lead.

12. FIRST TO DO AND THEN TEACH:
YWAM is committed to first doing and then teaching. We believe that first hand experience gives authority to our words. A godly character and a call from God are more important than the gifts, abilities, and skills of an individual.

13. BE ORIENTED TO RELATIONSHIPS:
YWAM is dedicated and oriented towards interpersonal relationships in our daily life and our work together. We want to be united through lives of holiness, mutual support, transparency, humility and open communication, rather than a dependence on structures or rules.

14. VALUING THE INDIVIDUAL:
YWAM is called upon to value each individual. We believe in fairness of opportunity and justice for all. Created in the image of God, people of all nationalities, ages and functions have distinctive contributions and calls. We are committed to honoring the leadership and ministerial gifts given by God to both men and women.

15. VALUE TO FAMILIES:
YWAM affirms the importance of families together serving God in missions, not just the father and / or mother. We encourage the development of a strong and healthy family unit, with each member of the family sharing the call to missions and contributing their gifts in a unique and complementary way.

16. DEPENDING ON ECONOMIC SUPPORT BASED ON RELATIONS:

YWAM is called to a system of financial support based on relationships, depending on God and his people for financial provision, both on a group and individual level. We believe that support based on relationships promotes responsibility, accountability, communication and mutual prayer. This system involves the donor as a companion in the ministry. Just as God and others have been generous to us, just as we want to be generous. The YWAMers give their own lives, their time and their talents to God through the mission without any expectation of remuneration.

17. PRACTICE THE HOSPITALITY:

YWAM affirms the ministry of hospitality as an expression of the character of God and the value of people. We believe that it is important to open our hearts, houses, bases and centers to serve and honor one another, our guests and the poor and needy, not as acts of a social protocol, but as expressions of generosity.

18. COMMUNICATE WITH INTEGRITY:

YWAM affirms that everything exists because God communicates. Therefore, YWAM is committed to truthful, accurate, current and relevant communication. We believe that good communication is essential for strong relationships, healthy families, communities and effective ministries.
